About Pots Unthrown
My Story
Hi, I’m Michael. Pots Unthrown is the expression of my creative self. I developed a love for ceramics, first as a collector and then as a maker, inspired by attending a ceramics workshop in Italy in 2022. Since then, I have been honing my craft at the Mudroom North in Portland, Oregon. My pieces are all hand built, mostly utilizing coiling or pinching techniques. I start with a vision of how a piece may look, but allow the clay to express itself in the process. Imperfections are part of the allure of these organic creations.
My Process
I use only the finest materials to create my ceramics, sourcing clay from local suppliers whenever possible. My pieces are all handcrafted, and each item is unique. I take great pride in the attention to detail and the high quality of this work.
